Welcome to part two of the daily good news round-up! If you're new here - HOLA (yes, stop asking, I lived in Spain for 2 months, I'm not like other girls).
Spark notes of what this newsletter is...
- Daily Good News coming from around the world amidst the ~global pandemic~ we've slid ourselves into (oooops!)
- Daily doggo picture, claro (that means of course in Spanish, did I mention I lived there? Stop asking!)
- The occasional random fact/piece of info to remind us all that there is, in fact, a world that exists outside of COVID-19.
If you have suggestions for the newsletter, compliments for humanity/me, or just want to chat - email itsgoodnewsdudes@gmail.com
Let’s be honest though, nonna already lived through a dictatorship, a literal world war, the birth of the Italian Republic, two attempted coups, multiple terrorist attacks/violent outbreaks and more; you really think a virus shaped like a crown is going to take her down? Ha, that's cute.
More reasons to respect your elders (and if you needed to be reminded of that take this quarantine to take a hard look at your ethics these people are LIVING HISTORY...too much?)
87-year-old physician Stanley Plotkin, who invented the rubella vaccine in 1964, is helping to advise the youth on developing a vaccine for COVID-19. Rubella was twice as contagious as the coronavirus, and, according to Plotkin, there are MANY more resources, funding, and companies working towards getting a vaccine created (there are already 40 vaccine candidates).
Lizzo told us exactly how we should be feeling on an Instagram Live featuring a guided meditation with her flute and crystals. (Let me just repeat that for emphasis - iconic, confident queen giving us all a guided meditation, the world is good people.) The meditation mantra? Fear does not exist in my body; fear does not exist in my home. Love exists in my body; love exists in my home.
This conversation on the state of the world coming from two twins that make more sense than anything Trump has said over the last, well, a decade? Here's to a promising future led by kids who don't deny climate change (snuck that in there sorry not sorry).
This person who was either; taking out the trash (boring), staging a live performance of Jurassic Park (support your artists!), or sensed that this is the outfit that people needed to see three days into quarantine.
Have a pooch that needs to stretch its legs but no dinosaur costume/hazmat suit to venture outside in? Take a lead from this man in Cyprus who used a drone to walk his dog during day five of quarantine.
Do yourself a favour and turn up the volume on this video, this dude knows how to party.
